is it the heat outside (which isn't even as bad as in June or July) that's making some folks on here super cranky? It's not even winter yet and it seems, some have the summer equivalent of cabin fever.

God is Good! He put it all here a n d He has cleaned up the Gulf with his living creatures multiple times we see. Especially around Venezuela. Chavez is a real pig with his oil works.

RG, you might want to read the posting guidelines for this site. This has to do with crude oil and hence is quite relevant. If you don't think it is, report it to the admins and let them decide.
Better still, if you don't think this thread is relevant, stay off it.

I really doubt that this is true. Oil has simply settled to the ocean floor, and it will continue to be a major problem in the Gulf for decades to come.

So now that we've been taught the science behind how these bacteria are breaking down the oil, once the bacteria expands how will we get rid of it? Or will it die off on its own?

Let's wait a year before any major conclusions. I doubt those bacteria are chomping away at 5000' and 40F.

Apparently the warmer waters of the Gulf have have encouraged the bacteria to feast on the oil residual more thoroughly. Time will tell just how successful nature took care of this problem
